As a fan of Marilyn Monroe, what is the craziest thing that you have ever done to , get her memorabilia, look like her, etc.? Please email me your answers, and I will post it on this page.
After your story is on this page, you will get an award with your name on it!

Name: Ashley
Age: 16The First Occasion:
It was "Your Fave Celebrity Day" at my school for spirit week and you were
supposed to dress up as your fave celebrity(duh) and I picked Marilyn
Monroe. At the time, I didn't have a noticable outfit that would make
people realize that I was Marilyn so I wore a 50's-ish skirt and a cute
vintage top that I found in the mall and put on a blonde wig and wore tons
of red lipstick and strutted all around school ... all of my FRIENDS knew
that I was Marilyn because they think I'm obsessed but everyone else was
asking me if I was Madonna! How RUDE!!!

The Second Occasion:
It was Halloween and we have an annual costume contest at my school so I
spent a bunch of money and bought a Marilyn costume pattern and made the
very popular "The Seven Year Itch" dress and wore it to school. I was all
decked out with the wig, bright red lipstick and mole and everything! All
of these people kept looking at me like I was crazy but when the costume
contest came around at lunchtime...I won the "Most Original" award!!! I was
SOOOO HAPPY!!! yay for me!

The Third Occasion:
It was Marilyn's 75th birthday and I couldn't figure out what to do to keep
the Marilyn Pride Alive so I came up with an idea: I wore my fave Marilyn
tee-shirt (it has the pic of her wearing the Moon of Baroda on it) and I
safety pinned 83 bookmarks to my pants and walked around school all day. I
also baked her a cake and made all of my friends sing "Happy Birthday" to
her if they wanted a piece of cake. Despite rude comments from dumb people
with NO appreciation for classics, it was an AWESOME day!

"I am such a huge fan of Marilyn that for a school project I dressed as her. I was wearing the famous outfit she wore for the movie Seven Year Itch. I hardly ever wear any makeup, and I was wearing a very blonde wig, nobody expected me to do this. I was so nervous I forgot all I had to say and had to use my note cards, my knees, my legs and hands were shaking! You can't imagine how nervous I was! Afterwards my friends wanted other teachers to see me and they walked me all over school, then the bell rang and a whole lot of people saw me walking around dressed as Marilyn and it was funny because some people were yelling stuff like 'Aren't you dead?' and 'Hey it's Marilyn!'. So I kinda had like my little hour of fame. The dress was rented and it cost me $50 so I really hope I got 2 A+'s because I worked really hard for it."

"The craziest Marilyn thing that I have done since I became a fan, is... the day after my birthday, a friend of mine, my aunt and my two cousins went to the Mall Of America. I saw a Suncoast Video and ran in there really fast. When I got to the back, I saw a Marilyn clock, water globe, tv tin boxes, and movies. Every time I saw a Marilyn thing, I grabbed it really fast and ran to the next one. By the time I got to the counter, my hands were really full, and everyone was looking at me strangely. My friend kept bringing up new Marilyn things like calenders and salt & pepper shakers. I already had the calanders, so I put them back. When the person at the checkout counter saw all my Marilyn stuff, he said "You must be a REALLY big Marilyn Monroe fan!" My friend said "She is!" I walked out of the store with the two tv tin totes, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Let's Make Love, a poster, and a salt and pepper shaker. That is the craziest thing that I ever did to get some Marilyn memorabialia!"

"I am such a HUGE Marilyn fan, I went to an audition for a commercial as her! You see, the rules were that you have to do something that you know, and perform for the director and producer.
I love the song "Heat Wave" so I had the costume made for me. I look similar to Marilyn (or so I am told OFTEN!)
I put on my makeup, just like her, and I also put on Marilyn's favorite perfume, Chanel #5!
I hire1d a bunch of guys that I know, to be my male singers. We all got together, and they carried me in on the float, just like in the movie!
I knew all the lyrics, because I perform as Marilyn alot. I can do her voice very well!
I did the performance as good as I could. When I was done, the director just starred at me, in awe, like 'Oh, my God! this girl REALLY wants this part!'
Well I got the part, and it was wonderful!"

"I am such a huge fan of Marilyn, I stood outside a post office in the freezing rain, waiting for the mailman to return with my sculpted 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President' plate.
The mailman had left one of those little cards in my mailbox, saying that I had a package at the post office, and to pick it up by 4:30.
So, I go up there, knowing that it had to be plate. When I got there, they told me that the mailman had not gotten there yet, due to bad weather.
"Would you like to come back tomorrow?" of course not!!!
So, I stood there, and1 waited until he showed up at about 5:20 or so.
Meanwhile, the rain was pouring down, and the roads were getting slicker and slicker.
Do you think that I wanted to leave without my package? Yeah, right!!! Not in your life!
That was the craziest thing that I ever did to get Marilyn memorabilia!"
